Description and captions, from one upload

Strongest in Hindi and English today, with 17 Indian and international languages ready to use. Tell us what you need when you request an invite.

Audio description

Short spoken lines that tell blind and low-vision viewers what is on screen: who is there, what they do, where we are. Written into the pauses in the dialogue, voiced in one consistent house voice and mixed under your programme, so the dialogue always stays clear.

  • AD script, SRT
  • AD script, WebVTT
  • AD track, WAV
  • Mix, WAV
  • Mixed MP4

Closed captions

Timed text of the dialogue, and the sounds that matter, for viewers who are deaf or hard of hearing. Easy line lengths and reading speeds, in the formats broadcasters and platforms ask for.

  • SRT
  • WebVTT
  • TTML

From upload to delivery in five steps

Every delivery comes with a QC report, with or without human QC.

  1. 01

    Upload

Your programme, the dialogue stem if you have it, and a cast sheet so every name is right.

  2. 02

    AI drafts

Re-scribe finds the pauses in the dialogue, reads the picture and writes lines that fit them, or times your captions.

  3. 03

    You review

Watch it back against the picture. Edit a line, re-voice it, approve it, or leave a note at the timecode.

  4. 04Optional

    Human QC

Our own reviewers check every line, to a deadline: 72 hours Standard or 24 hours Express.

  5. 05

    Export

Captions and AD scripts as SRT, WebVTT and TTML; the AD track, the full mix, or a finished MP4.

Accessibility is now a schedule, not a nice-to-have

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has set the dates for OTT and cinema. New titles will need audio description for blind and low-vision viewers, and captions or sign language for deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers.

Until the OTT rules apply to all new titles

835days

Counting to 6 February 2029, the end of the 36-month preparation window. 24% of the window has gone. Every month of catalogue left until then is more hours to describe at the last minute.

  1. OTT. Final accessibility guidelines issued for streaming publishers: captions, audio description and Indian Sign Language, phased in.

  2. Cinema. Captions and audio description required on CBFC-certified feature films, including trailers. MIB’s order of 15 Mar 2024 gave two years to comply.

  3. All new OTT titles carry at least one feature for visually impaired viewers, in practice audio description, and one for hearing-impaired viewers. Library titles: best effort.

Sources: MIB, Accessibility Guidelines for OTT Platforms (O.M. of 6 Feb 2026), clauses 4.1, 4.2 and 5.1; MIB order of 15 Mar 2024 on feature films in cinemas, as reported by IPRMENTLAW and exchange4media. Live, audio-only and short-form content of 10 minutes or less are exempt (clause 6.2). A summary, not legal advice.

Built by people who deliver programmes

Asanga comes out of Bhramma, a post-production house delivering since 2008. Re-scribe is made for broadcasters, OTT platforms, producers and post houses, around how deliveries are really checked.

  • Whole episodes and films

Send the full episode or the feature film. It runs as one job and comes back as one delivery, at one price.

  • A review room, not a black box

Every line sits against the picture and the timeline. Change the words and re-voice just that line. Nothing leaves without someone seeing it.

  • Our own reviewers, on a clock

Add a check by the Asanga team with a stated turnaround. If an Express review runs late, you pay the Standard price.

  • Pay per minute, prepaid

See the price before a job starts and pay only for minutes delivered. A job that fails costs nothing.

Bring us a programme. We will describe it.

We are opening Re-scribe to a small group of broadcasters and platforms first. Tell us what you make and the languages you need, and we will set up your workspace.
