Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use Re-scribe. Re-scribe is provided by Asanga Origin Private Limited (“Asanga”, “we”, “us”). By accepting an invitation, creating an account or buying Credit, you agree to these terms. If you do this for a company, you confirm you can bind that company.

If you and Asanga have signed a separate written agreement, that agreement wins wherever it differs from these terms.

1. What Re-scribe does

Re-scribe makes audio description (AD) and closed captions (CC) for film, TV and OTT content. You upload a programme. Our system, which uses AI, produces a draft AD script, a voiced AD track and caption files. You review and edit the drafts, then download the files.

Re-scribe is a tool that makes drafts. You are responsible for checking the output before you use or publish it.

2. Who can use it

  • Re-scribe is invite-only at launch and is for businesses and professionals. You must be 18 or older.
  • One account belongs to one organisation. Its team members use it under that account.
  • Keep your login safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using it.
  • Give us true details, including your GST details if you want a GST invoice.

3. Credit and payment

You pay in advance by buying Credit. You use Credit to pay for Re-scribe jobs.

  • What Credit is. Credit is a prepaid right to use Re-scribe services from Asanga. Nothing else. It is not money, not a bank balance, not a wallet and not a payment instrument. It earns no interest.
  • What Credit is not. It cannot be used to buy anything from anyone other than Asanga’s Re-scribe service. It cannot be transferred to another account or person, sold, or withdrawn as cash. Refunds are covered in the Cancellation & Refunds page.
  • Prices. Prices are in Indian rupees and are on the Pricing page. GST is added at the applicable rate.
  • How a job is charged. Before a job starts we show an estimate. We set that amount aside from your Credit. When the job finishes, we charge the final amount. If the job fails, we release the amount back to your Credit. You are not charged for a failed job.
  • Top-ups. Until online payment opens, we add Credit against an invoice. When it opens, you will pay through a payment partner, and we will not see or store your card, UPI or bank login details.
  • Validity. Credit is valid for one month from your most recent top-up. Expired Credit is not refunded.
  • Price changes. We may change the rate card. A change applies only to jobs started after the change. Credit you have already bought keeps its rupee value.

4. AI output and your review

  • The output is produced by AI and can contain mistakes. For example, a scene may be described wrongly or missed, a name may be wrong, a caption may be mistimed, or the voice may mispronounce a word.
  • We do not promise that the output is accurate or complete. We do not promise that it meets the requirements of any broadcaster, platform, regulator or accessibility standard. You decide whether it is fit for your use.
  • The AD voice is a synthetic (computer-generated) voice. If a law, platform or client requires you to say so, that is your responsibility.
  • Some tiers may include human review. The Pricing page describes what each tier includes.

5. Your content

  • You own it. You keep ownership of the video, audio, scripts and other material you upload (“Your Content”), and of the files Re-scribe produces from it (“Output”).
  • What we may do with it. You give us permission to store and process Your Content only to provide Re-scribe to you, to support you and to keep the service secure. This includes sending it to the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy.
  • No model training. We do not use Your Content to train AI models.
  • Your promises. You promise that you have the rights needed to upload and process Your Content. This includes rights in the picture, the sound and the music, and any permission needed from the people in it. You also promise that it is lawful.
  • Our platform. Re-scribe, its software and its design belong to Asanga or its licensors. These terms do not transfer them to you.

6. What you must not do

  • Upload content that is illegal, that infringes someone else’s rights, or that sexually exploits children.
  • Try to break, overload or get around the security of the service, or to access another customer’s data.
  • Resell or share your login, or resell access to Re-scribe, without our written permission.
  • Use Re-scribe to deceive people, for example to pass off a synthetic voice as a real person’s voice.
  • Copy, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, except as the law allows.

We may remove content or suspend an account to comply with law, to deal with a valid legal notice, or to stop harm.

7. Availability and support

Re-scribe is in an invite-only launch. We work to keep it running, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free. We may take it down for maintenance. Some parts depend on outside providers, and we are not responsible for their outages.

8. Closing your account

  • You can stop using Re-scribe at any time and ask us to close your account. Unused Credit is handled as set out in the Cancellation & Refunds page.
  • We may suspend or close an account if you break these terms, if you do not pay, or if the law requires. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you time to download your Output.
  • After closure we delete Your Content as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, contracts or reputation.
  • Our total liability to you for all claims about the service in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim.
  • Nothing in these terms excludes liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.

You will cover us for losses and claims from third parties that arise because Your Content infringes their rights or breaks the law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the “Last updated” date. For a material change we will email the account owner at least 15 days before it applies. If you keep using Re-scribe after the change applies, you accept it.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of India have jurisdiction. Please contact us first. We would like the chance to fix the problem.
